Alice Zimmermann was born in 1984 close to Mainz in Germany. As a child she dedicated a lot of her time making drawings with pencil and crayons. Her passion for painting with oil colors started in the age of 14 with a present of her father, a wooden box with artist oil-colors. The first motifs were dedicated to animals and pets. Later on, the first more complex motifs had been copies of paintings of William Waterhouse, Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh. After graduating in physics in Heidelberg, she dedicated more time to painting with oil-, gouache and water-colors and started to develop her own style, a mixture of impressionistic plein-air painting and realistic sketching. The motivs became almost entirely landscapes in Italy and Germany. From traditional canvas she moved to small and medium format wooden boards, on which one can express smallest details and which can give a very smooth texture to and present finest structures.
Her main motivation for landscapes is the peace and tranquility which nature gives us in everydays often stressful life, but also one of her favorite art styles: the french and german impressionism of the late 19th and early 20th century.
As of late her paintings are shown in exhibitions.

I primi dipinti realizzati avevano come soggetto animali ed interpretazioni personali di dipinti di William Waterhouse, Claude Monet e Vincent van Gogh.
Dopo il Dottorato in Fisica ad Heidelberg, ha dedicato più tempo alla pittura ad olio, guazzo ed acquerello, iniziando a sviluppare il suo stile personale, un misto di pittura impressionista an-plein-air e schizzi realistici. I motivi sono quasi interamente paesaggi italiani e tedeschi.
Il supporto utilizzato sono la tela e le tavole di legno di piccolo e medio formato,
sulle quali si possono esprimere i più piccoli dettagli e che possono dare una texture molto liscia e presentare le strutture più belle.
La sua motivazione principale per i paesaggi è legata alla pace ed alla tranquillità che la natura
offre nella vita quotidiana, spesso stressante, ma anche uno dei suoi stili preferiti:
l'impressionismo francese e tedesco della fine del XIX e dell'inizio del XX secolo.
Ultimamente i suoi dipinti sono esposti in mostre.
